Dr. Cameron Elgie

Dr. Cameron Elgie was raised in Southern Ontario, but born to a family of canoe trippers, he spent much of his life exploring the lakes and rivers of Northern Ontario. He completed his Bachelor of Science at the University of Guelph and spent his summers working as a tree planter and an Outward Bound instructor across Northeastern and Northwestern Ontario.

Dr. Elgie obtained his medical degree from McMaster University in Hamilton before moving to Thunder Bay to complete his residency in Orthopedic Surgery. He then completed a fellowship in Foot, Ankle & Lower Extremity Trauma and Reconstruction in Ottawa. Dr. Elgie has a strong interest in medical education and digital learning, with a focus on enhancing musculoskeletal education for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

He is a member of the Canadian Orthopaedic Association (COA), the Canadian Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (COFAS), and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA). His practice focuses on foot and ankle reconstruction—including total ankle replacements, fusions, and deformity correction—as well as lower extremity trauma and sports-related foot and ankle injuries, such as Achilles tendon ruptures, ankle instability, and ankle arthroscopy.
